Make pores smaller by changing your cleansing routine. Reducing facial pores can lead to the appearance of smoother, cleaner skin.

Facial pores are often the largest in the t-zone which is the area of the forehead, nose, and chin. Large facial pores can become impacted with skin and sebum. This leads to blackheads and blocked pores that lead to an increase in large facial pores. In order to decrease pore size, it is necessary to cleanse and treat the skin to help remove existing bacteria and prevent further accumulation.

Extraction Facials to Make Pores Smaller

Get a facial that includes extractions at least once per month to avoid skin and sebum accumulation that exacerbates large pores. When the pores contain buildup, they cannot shrink, and will appear larger. Extractions remove impacted material and allow the pores to return to normal size. If blackheads are a severe problem, it may require weekly facial treatments to ensure blackheads do not come back. Get rid of zits and make pores smaller by extracting buildup regularly.

Cleansing to Reduce Pore Size

Cleansing the face twice daily with a gentle face wash is an important pore reducing step. Alcohol or other harsh ingredients that are often used in acne products might actually exacerbate sebum production and contribute to clogged pores. Use a gentle facial cleanser twice daily with a washcloth or buffer, and scrub the face in a circular motion. Important areas on which to concentrate are the nose, chin, forehead, and areas of your face that are susceptible to large pores and acne. This should be followed with a warm water rinse and a splash of cool water help close pores. Use a toner that does not contain alcohol to further reduce pore size.

Pore Reducing Facial Mask

Mint or mud masks should be a part of a skin cleansing routine to help reduce large skin pores. The mask should be applied to clean, dry skin and allowed to dry completely. It is then removed with warm water and gentle cleanser. A cool rinse will further reduce pore size. Performing facial masks in between extraction facials will help to stop accumulation that may occur and work to tighten skin to decrease large pores. Microdermabrasion and chemical or gycolic peels may be helpful as well.

Use Sun block or Facial Lotion to Close Pores

Large skin pores can be reduced by using facial lotion or sun block because it acts as a barrier from skin and sebum accumulation. After morning facial cleansing, sun block should be applied to the entire face, including the more oily t-zone, and again at night after cleansing as well.

Pore Cleansing Strips

Pore cleansing strips may help to remove any accumulation that can lead to enlarged pores on the nose. the strips are applied to a dampened and left on until dry. They are then removed by pulling up on each side. These strips clean out surface accumulation that may occur on the nose and contribute to large skin pores.
