Many people often feel that rinsing with mouth wash is as good as brushing their teeth! This is not the case at all! Brushing your teeth is like exercise for your gums. Even though we eat food on a daily basis, our gums still like to have a good brushing. Amazing, isn't it? To learn how to prevent gum disease, read on.

Recently a study done by dental students showed the average person brushes his teeth once a day, usually in the morning before going to work. The rest of the four thousand people surveyed said they brushed their teeth at least twice a day.

Not brushing your teeth often enough can lead to gum disease, a common disease in people who are over thirty years old and reside in America.

Gum disease can be something that happens once in a while or it could also signify something greater and more serious is going on within your body. A common disease such as type 2 diabetes often causes gum disease.

A plaque that resides inside and around the teeth at the gum level is full of harmful bacteria; it is these bacteria, if not brushed away well, that can cause the decaying of the gums and teeth.

What is the Best Method for Keeping Your Gums Clean?

If you want to use a natural product to help your gums and teeth stay cleaner, try adding a little D3 supplement and a glass of orange juice or a Vitamin C tablet. The high acidity will help you regain gum tissue through the ingestion of antioxidants that are found in vitamin C.

Be responsible for your well being, brush twice a day and guarantee yourself a lifetime of happy health teeth and gums.
