As my profile shows, I am an Hons student doing an assignment on Psoriasis Documents and would like to hear your views!
Do you ever consult Psoriasis documents? Why or why not? Would you rather look for info on the web or in hardcopy? Do you look for information on new treatments; do you look for other fellow patients' testimonials; do you look for comforting and hope in these documents, be it hardcopy or electronic?
Does the presentation (layout, text structure, images etc.) play any role in your choice of document you'd pick up or are you only interested in the hard facts in the content? Would spelling errors put you off or would you keep on reading as long as you feel connected with the document?
Has terms such as "scales"; "flakes" etc. ever bothered you? Would you rather prefer jargon in this case with terms such as "lesions"; "plaques" etc.?
Do you find it positive, uplifting, alleviating if a document states "restore grace, regain splendour"? Do you feel that this means grace has been lost, setting a negative stage?
Would you rather be comforted or given the hard facts in these types of documents? One patient told me that he doesn't want "flowery" words, as the illness is not "flowery" - is this the overall feeling?
